New Autodesk Beta Website

New and exciting changes have been introduced to Autodesk’s Beta Program where we invite customers to test and provide feedback on pre—release product so that we ship the highest quality of product possible.

The Autodesk MyFeedback Beta platform was retired by May 31st, 2009 at which  point the new Autodesk Community officially came to life at http://beta.autodesk.com.

Make sure to sign up for the new Autodesk Feedback Community site before the busy beta release season in the fall. The sign up takes only a few minutes to enter the information about your Autodesk product use and hardware you intend to use to test the pre-release beta software.

We need you to provide the critical customer feedback which is vital to shape the future of all Autodesk products.

AutoCAD Architecture 2009 Product Update 3 Released

In an effort to continue to improve the quality of our products we are releasing a free AutoCAD Architecture 2009 Update 3. This update (Service Pack) includes both Update 1 & Update 2.

MEASUREGEOM Hotfix Released for AutoCAD 2010 Based Products including AutoCAD Architecture and AutoCAD MEP

There is a new hotfix in response to Customer Error Reporting (CER) reports we have received from customers. This solution applies to all AutoCAD 2010 based products such as AutoCAD 2010,AutoCAD LT 2010, AutoCAD Architecture 2010, AutoCAD Mechanical 2010, DWG TrueView 2010, and more listed in the ReadMe.

MEASUREGEOM is a command that was released to AutoCAD 2009 Subscription customers last fall in the AutoCAD 2009 Subscription Bonus Pack 1 and was then included in the AutoCAD 2010 based products. It added new measurement capabilities such as measuring the distance, radius, angle, area, and volume of selected objects or a sequence of points.

If you entered your email into the CER dialog and hit this issue you should receive an email from Autodesk alerting you to a fix in the near future.

If you crash an Autodesk product (hopefully not), please make sure to send in the CER report with details and your email with each and every incident so we can research the problem.

Vote for AU 2009 Sessions!

Hopefully you got your Autodesk University 2009 session proposals submitted by this last weekends deadline if not there is always next year. There were more proposals this year to review than for last years AU 2008.

Now is the time to go vote for the sessions you want for AU from the many submitted proposals. There are some really great proposals!

If you are considering attending AU 2009, please take a few minutes to vote for those sessions that you absolutely want to see. Your votes will help us select not only the best sessions, but will also give us some insight into the most popular ones to help us schedule them at the best times and locations.

How to Vote
To vote for sessions, go to the Autodesk University Session Selection page and log in using your AU Online username and password. If you do not have an AU Online account, it only takes 15 seconds to register as an AU Online member .

The voting deadline is Friday, May 8 at midnight PDT.

There are only 210 day until Autodesk University 2009 (5028 hours, 23 minutes ,35 seconds).

Autodesk at AIA 2009

The Autodesk booth #1039 is constructed from cardboard (sustainable design) at AIA 2009. AIA 2009 is April 30th to May 2nd 2009 in the Moscone Center in San Francisco California. I will not be able to attend this year but please stop by the booth and tell them I said “hi” as well as see the booth and cool things they are showing.

Autodesk has released ArchVision RPC Content for AutoCAD Architecture 2010 and AutoCAD MEP 2010 on the Autodesk Subscription Center. The download is 220MB.

ArchVision RPC Content libraries in this Autodesk Subscription download is:

• Shrubs & Ornamental Grasses Vol. 1
• Trees Vol. 2 (Conifers & Shrubs)
• Trees Vol. 3 (Tropical)
• Trees Vol. 5 (Deciduous)
• Trees Vol. 6 (Fall)
• and some individual content such as Volkswagen Beetle and some people

Looks to me to be well over US $1000 retail RPC content included in this Autodesk Subscription download for AutoCAD Architecture 2010 and AutoCAD MEP 2010 subscription customers.

Autodesk University Class Proposals Deadline

The Autodesk University 2009 (http://au.autodesk.com/) class proposals submission deadline is end of the month April 30th, 2009, so you had better hurry. There is not only the benefit of getting exposure to your peers as a AU speaker but you get paid. Autodesk University 2009 will be held in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay December 1-4th 2009.
